La Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa concederá el Premio al Voluntariado 2014 a Koldo Aulestia en reconocimiento a la labor desinteresada que realiza desde hace más de una década en favor de las personas con alzheimer y sus allegadas. Koldo Aulestia preside desde 2003 la Asociación de Amigos y Familiares de Personas con Alzheimer y otras Demencias, AFAGI, y fue nombrado en 2013 presidente de la Confederación estatal. Su candidatura ha sido propuesta por Nagusilan, entidad para el voluntariado social de las personas mayores, y aprobada por unanimidad por un jurado integrado por representantes del tejido asociativo del Territorio.
El diputado de Política Social, Ander Rodríguez, y la directora de Planificación e Inversiones, María del Río, han ofrecido hoy una rueda de prensa junto a Koldo Aulestia para dar a conocer el Premio Voluntariado 2014. El representante foral ha subrayado la impagable labor solidaria y desinteresada desarrollada por Aulestia: «Es un ejemplo inmejorable de los valores del voluntariado y el asociacionismo que queremos promover a través de este premio. Es un guipuzcoano solidario, con un compromiso social firme que está dedicando su tiempo y su vida a trabajar, de manera voluntaria, para mejorar el bienestar de las personas con alzheimer y para hacer de Gipuzkoa un territorio más solidario, más responsable con las personas mayores y con mejores servicios públicos para todos y todas».
Rodríguez ha subrayado que, además de desarrollar actividades voluntarias diversas durante 35 años, a lo largo de la última década, el presidente de AFAGI ha sido la voz de las personas con alzheimer y otras demencias y sus familiares en Gipuzkoa. Fue su vivencia personal con esta enfermedad lo que hizo que se prejubilara para dedicarse en exclusiva a la representación y defensa de este colectivo. Durante su etapa al frente de AFAGI, ha incorporado nuevas formas de gestión que han otorgado un papel relevante al movimiento asociativo, impulsando la incorporación de voluntarios y voluntarias. A finales de 2012, durante un encuentro organizado en Donostia con representantes de las 19 Federaciones integrantes de la Confederación Española de Asociaciones de Familias de Personas con Alzheimer y otras Demencias, Koldo Aulestia fue propuesto presidente por unanimidad. Desde entonces, compagina la presidencia de ambos organismos.
El acto de entrega del galardón tendrá lugar el jueves, día 4, en el Salón del Trono del Palacio Foral, donde el diputado general de Gipuzkoa, Martín Garitano, concederá a Koldo Aulestia el Premio Voluntariado 2014.01122014 01122014 2BIS
